Sample preparation
All information about accepting your sample for analysis is ready for you here.
GC/MS
Deliver samples for GC/MS measurement in glass or plastic vials with a 2ml stopper, either in the crystalline state or as a substance. The minimum required amount is 10mg. The substance can also be supplied in the form of a solution. In this case, use only recommended solvents. Under no circumstances should the samples contain water or inorganic acids, bases or salts! These substances must be removed from the sample in advance! Prepare samples at a concentration of 0.1 to 1 mg/ml.
LC/MS
Deliver samples for ESI or APCI measurement only in glass vials. Many contaminating substances are released from the walls of the plastic containers, which can complicate the analysis. The minimum amount of delivered substance can be 0.5 mg. The substance can also be supplied in the form of a homogeneous solution. In this case, only the recommended HPLC-grade solvents should be used. The presence of water is not an obstacle. However, the sample should not contain non-volatile buffers. If you supply a fraction from liquid chromatography, you must provide at least 2 ml of the mobile phase you are using. Supply sample solutions in a volume of at least 0.5 ml and 10 to 100 mM concentration. For solutions, it is necessary to indicate the concentration in the request form.
MALDI-TOF
The conditions do not differ from the method described in the previous LC/MS paragraph. We recommend a personal appointment before the first sample request.
If these conditions are not met, your samples may not be measured!
Your samples will not be saved. If you want to return your substances after analysis, you must mark this request in the requisition. Mass spectrometry is generally a very sensitive method, do not supply an excessive amount of sample.
The results will be sent to you electronically in PDF format. You can pick them up on the DS116 computer in your directory within one week of publication. To visit the directory for the first time, use the name guest1 and password *guest*. You can also get a request form here.
